Eva G. Kane

Law Clerk

 

Eva G. Kane is a law clerk for Shumway Van & Hansen working in civil litigation and criminal law.  Mrs. Kane has over twelve years experience working in the legal field with a strong background in various areas of criminal law.  Mrs. Kane has extensive practice performing a variety of tasks including legal research, drafting and writing projects, trial preparation, and building strong customer/client relationships.  Through her years of experience, Mrs. Kane attended and participated in numerous trials, hearings, depositions, and arbitrations.

 

In the fall of 2001, Mrs. Kane interned for United States Senator Harry Reid in Washington, D.C., where she researched constitutional issues and attended and reported on various committee meetings.  Mrs. Kane graduated Cum Laude from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in December 2002.  During her time at Pepperdine, Mrs. Kane was an active member of several organizations including the Gold Key Honor Society, the Political Science Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha), and the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

 

Mrs. Kane returned to Las Vegas to attend law school at the William S. Boyd School of Law.  While at Boyd, Mrs. Kane was involved in a variety of pro bono services including the Legal Education Assistance Program, the Family Law Legal Assistance Program, and the UNLV Immigration Clinic.  After accelerating her studies, Mrs. Kane graduated early from Boyd and earned her J.D. in December 2006.

 

Mrs. Kane is a native of Las Vegas where she resides with her husband, Kieran, and their Australian Shepherd, Jack.
