Regan R. Duckworth, Esq.

Regan R. Duckworth is a Utah attorney in the litigation department of Shumway Van & Hansen. He graduated from the University of Utah in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. He subsequently received his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in 2009.

 

While there, Mr. Duckworth was selected as Executive Editor of the ABA’s Family Law Quarterly, earned a spot on Washburn’s Moot Court Council by writing the top appellate brief in the selection competition, and served in different capacities within various student organizations. During his third year of law school, he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and received the Martin Pringle Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy.

 

Prior to joining Shumway Van & Hansen, Mr. Duckworth gained significant practical experience as a summer associate for the legal department of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in Ft. Worth, Texas, as a law clerk with a Kansas bankruptcy firm, and during an legal externship for Utah Legal Services.

 

Mr. Duckworth is fluent in Spanish.  For leisure, he is an avid follower of University of Utah athletics and enjoys flying and golfing with his wife and their children.
