Robert A. Ryan is an associate at Shumway Van & Hansen and a true Las Vegas attorney practicing in general civil litigation, loan modification and foreclosure defense.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Georgia.  Mr. Ryan attended law school at American University, earning his Juris Doctorate in May of 2009.  During law school, he participated in the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, where he taught Constitutional Law to inner-city high school students and successfully led two students to the finals of the William H. Karchmer Moot Court competition.  Mr. Ryan’s initial background is in securities law due to his time spent working with the Office of Compliance, Inspections, and Examinations at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Ryan is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland and his admission to the Nevada Bar Association is pending.  Originally born in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Ryan spent his formative years in the South, where he developed a passion for college football and became an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.
