Oh Crap-O! Even Senators Get in Trouble for Driving Drunk: A Las Vegas DUI Lawyer Can Help With Your
U.S. Senator Michael Crapo from Idaho was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, on December 23, 2012. If you were also arrested for making a little too merry during the holidays and then driving home, contact a Las Vegas DUI lawyer for help.
Police said Crapo registered a blood alcohol level of 0.11 percent when he was pulled over in Alexandria, VA, a suburb of Washington D.C., after running a red light. A secondary test performed at the jail registered a 0.14 level, almost twice the legal limit.
A spokesperson for the Senator said Crapo consulted with a local Virginia attorney ahead of his hearing, a wise idea considering the driving restrictions and possible jail time he could face. If you have a DUI, you should consult with a Las Vegas DUI lawyer before you go to court.
Crapo pleaded guilty before the judge to drunken driving. The judge ordered a suspended sentence of 180 days in jail, a $250 fine, a year’s suspension of his driver’s license, and enrollment in an alcohol safety program.
