Daniel Hansen is an attorney who practice primarily in our Civil Litigation practice group. During his time with Shumway Van Daniel has gained valuable experience working with a variety of clients in need of litigation assistance and has shown great potential as he prepares to become licensed to practice law.
Daniel graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School and is preparing to take the Bar exam in Nevada, which is where he will begin his law practice. Prior to joining our law firm he was able to gain experience working as a summer associate in the litigation department of a law firm in Billings, Montana and also worked as a law clerk for the general counsel of two large companies in Provo, Utah.
During law school Daniel was a member of BYU Law’s National Moot Court team and was awarded for writing the Best Brief in the Rex E. Lee Moot Court Competition. He was also a lead editor for the school’s Journal of Public Law.
While working to obtain his undergraduate degree, Daniel was a running back on BYU’s football team for two years and was a member of BYU’s rugby team for two years as well. He also volunteered to serve for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Joao Pessoa, Brazil from 2006 until 2008, during which time he became fluent in Portuguese. Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing all types of sports, camping and fishing.
