Charges were filed against an alleged drunk driver who was involved in a fatal crash south of Moab. The driver had a blood-alcohol level of 0.21, which is almost three times the legal limit of 0.08 in Utah. Injury attorneys in Utah warn that not only is it illegal, but it is not safe to drive while intoxicated.
The driver, Erik H. Yazzie was charged with automobile homicide, a second-degree felony; DUI, a third-degree felony; theft by receiving stolen property, a class A misdemeanor; and improper lane travel, a class C misdemeanor. If you have been charged with a DUI, Utah attorneys can help you with your case.
In April, Yazzie left a restaurant without paying for his meal, stole a car, and then crashed head-on into another vehicle killing the other driver. If convicted of automobile homicide, Yazzie faces up to 15 years in prison.
