Michael J. Lin is an associate attorney in our law firm’s Las Vegas office, where he primarily practices commercial and civil litigation. Mr. Lin received a Juris Doctor and Master in Business Administration from UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law and Lee Business School.
During law school Mr. Lin made several notable accomplishments, all while working part-time and attending evening classes. He was on the Dean’s List for two consecutive semesters and earned CALI Awards in legal writing, torts, and employment discrimination. Mr. Lin was also the Special Assignments Editor on the law school’s prestigious Nevada Law Journal and a member of the Society of Advocates Moot Court Team, competing in the Sutherland Cup Moot Competition, which holds the distinction of being the oldest, private moot competition in the country. Prior to joining the Shumway Van family, Mr. Lin spent time as a law clerk at one of the city’s prominent civil litigation firms, where he worked in insurance defense and bad faith litigation.
Mr. Lin is an avid animal lover, and in his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his two beautiful dogs. He also enjoys all aspects of food and dining, given his many years of working in the food and beverage industry prior to pursuing a career in law.
