Salt Lake City Lawyers Encourage Fun and Safe 4th of July
Last year the Utah State Legislature amended the Fire Prevention and Fireworks Act to allow some aerial fireworks to be sold in the state. Lawyers in Utah want people to know that even though they no longer need to drive to Wyoming to purchase these fireworks, they still need to exercise caution when using them in order to minimize the liability risk.
The Salt Lake City Fire Department issued firework restrictions for certain locations and days. Lawyers in Utah support these restrictions and encourage others to follow the law. Failure to do so may result in enhanced legal consequences if an accident occurs.
In non-restricted areas, fireworks can be discharged for the 4th of July holiday from July 1st to the 7th, and then for the 24th of July holiday from July 21st to the 27th. On the 4th and 24thof July, fireworks can be discharged until midnight, but only until 11 p.m. on the other days.
With the high temperatures and fireworks combined, Salt Lake City lawyers and county officials warn of increased fire danger. Similar to fireworks, gunfire has already caused 20 fires this year, including the recent wildfire started by target shooting near Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs.
Lawyers in Utah urge you to please use caution when discharging fireworks to avoid injuries and fires and to have a fun and safe holiday.
