Travis J. Robertson is one of our law firm’s attorneys licensed to practice law in Utah and Nevada. He practices primarily in the areas of family law, personal injury, and civil litigation.
He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He then attended the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree cum laude. During law school he was a Senior Editor on the BYU Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. He was also a research assistant to two law professors, and a teacher’s assistant for criminal law. He also worked as a reference desk assistant at the Howard W. Hunter Law Library and as Chairman of the Speakers Committee for the law school’s Government and Politics Legal Society. Before joining the law firm of Shumway Van, Mr. Robertson interned at the office of Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. and with Judge Steven L. Hansen of the 4th District Court in Provo, Utah. He also interned at the Department of the Interior in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked on matters involving public lands, real property, administrative law, and federal Indian law. Before completing his undergraduate work Mr. Robertson was a volunteer representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Portland, Oregon. He enjoys sports, camping, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
