Utah Bankruptcy Attorneys Remember Judge Clark

Utah bankruptcy attorneys remember former Utah bankruptcy court judge, Glen Edward Clark, and thank him for his service.

Judge Clark died Thursday, Oct. 25th at his home in Georgia at the age of 70. He died of complications from heart failure, liver disease and cancer. He will never be forgotten by Utah bankruptcy attorneys for his time on the bench.

Judge Clark graduated from the University of Utah College of Law and later was a visiting professor of law there. He was appointed to the bench in 1982, and four years later he became the chief judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah.

In 1992 he was elected president of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. He was the kind of judge and attorney Salt Lake City needs more of.

Judge Clark retired as chief judge for the Utah bankruptcy court in 2009. After his retirement, he moved to George with his wife Deanna of 42 years. Deanna recalled how he decided to pursue a legal career after watching the McCarthy hearings on television in the 1950s.

The Utah bankruptcy attorneys at Shumway Van & Hansen are grateful for the time Clark served as a judge and honor him for all of his dedication and hard work. Their thoughts and hearts go out to his family at this time of mourning.
